Currently working on a stand up writing desk for a client. I was able to find great Walnut to use for the top. After removing the bark, and hand planning the band saw tracks from the saw mill I uncovered beautiful off white sapwood.
Utilizing a mitered breadboard technique the sapwood is picture framed as shown below.
